Bio & Information
My cooking expertise is due in part to genes and family background. I was born to a traditional Texas family in a small country town. All of our family gatherings were graced with delicious home made flavors from my grandmother, mother, and aunts. Recipes were swapped with enthusiasm until the volumes could fill a small library.
However, I can’t say that I was really interested in cooking at an early age. I was a dyed-in-the-wool tomboy and would rather hang out with the guys or climb trees with my brothers than spend time in the kitchen. That changed when I became a wife and a mother. I found that I really enjoyed cooking, trying new things, and experimenting with my own creations.
My years as a military wife gave me wonderful exposure to many ethnic cultures and I learned to cook German, Italian, French, and Mexican foods from residents of those countries. Variety is indeed the “spice of life” and my family and friends have long benefited from my culinary smorgasbord.
My goal in creating this website is to share my experience and expertise with as many people as possible. I don’t believe that you have to be a “natural born cook” to be successful in the kitchen. Everyone has to entertain from time to time and I want to make that event less of a chore and more enjoyable and fun. I hope to give you the confidence and guidance to make your party or dinner a smash hit! So whether you want to surprise your sweetheart with a delectable dinner for two or you’re feeding fifty, I’m here to help. So get ready to hear “Wow, this is delicious”, “You did this yourself?”, and “YUM YUM YUM!” I want you to consider me “Your Best Friend in the Kitchen”.
